Product and service differentiation via aesthetics is an effective way to be successful in competition. In today’s world, the factor of visual aesthetics creates value for consumers. Therefore visual product aesthetics affects consumers’ willingness to pay. In this context visual product aesthetics is a significant factor that affects internal reference price and the consumers’ price thresholds. However, there is a lack of literature on the relationship between visual product aesthetics and price thresholds. This study aims to investigate the relationship between visual aesthetics of products and consumers’ internal reference prices. Willing to pay the highest price, lowest price and reasonable price are considered as internal reference prices. Convenience sampling was employed. The data of the study is collected via a survey form from 1000 respondents from Eskisehir, Turkey. Regression analysis was employed to test the research model. The results revealed that visual aesthetics of products affects internal reference prices. They argued that investors fail to behave rationally and that they use subjective judgment instead of objective analysis. Overreaction Hypothesis states that expecting that losers will be losing (winners will be winning), investors overreact to recent price discrepancies in the market while this inefficiency is corrected in the long-run. Conrad and Kaul (1993) criticized the Overreaction Hypothesis such that it was argued that abnormal return observed is the result of January Effect and a statistical bias together. The Overreaction Hypothesis has been tested in Turkey by researchers and the methodology developed by De Bondt and Thaler (1985) was used. In this study, the methodology suggested by Conrad and Kaul (1993) was used as well. The financial markets, Main Market and Star Market, in Istanbul Stock Exchange was tested for Overreaction Hypothesis with both methodologies. Moreover, the sub-markets which are Financial Market, Metal Market and Stone &Soil Market were examined. The abnormal returns were also tested if the results were statistically significant. To sum up, the abnormal returns observed were found to be statistically insignificant. It was concluded that overreaction is not observed in İstanbul Stock Exchange. In other words, the reason of fans’ consumption behavior is the favor of the team. Related to fan behavior and consumption, the term sacredness is crucial. Thus, two contradictory concepts; sacredness and consumption (which is a secular area that is connected to market rules) are brought together within the fan behavior context. In this study, Beþiktaþ Football Club fans’ behavior within the consumption and sacredness framework is examined. For this issue, Beþiktaþ’s biggest fan group Çarþý’s web site and social media accounts is analyzed via discourse analysis. With the aim of analyzing the data, the Miles and Huberman (1984)’s technique was applied. Within the football-sacredness framework six dimensions are appeared: place, time, tangible things, intangible things, people/other beings, and experiences. The relation of these dimensions with different consumption forms is also analyzed. Since the projects have high initial costs, they need to be leveraged heavily typically in project finance transaction. The paper includes an empirical analysis of major wind turbine manufacturers which helps to better understand the industry dynamics. The data used in this study is Volatility Index of S&P 500, and major wind turbine manufacturers namely Vestas Wind Systems A/S closing value in the Copenhagen stock exchange, Xinjiang GoldWind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. closing value in the Hong Kong stock exchange, and GAMESA closing value in the Frankfurt stock exchange. The research period is between 8 October 2010 and 6 July 2015. The data is daily and the total number of data is 1193. The long term relationship between the variables is analyzed with Johansen’s Cointegration methodology. This indicates that there is a long-run relationship between the stock exchange volatility and wind turbine manufacturing firms’ performance. For the short run analysis a VECM is developed. Granger causality analysis is also provided. This suggests there is no causality in neither ways between VIX , and firms’ stock market value namely VESTAS, GOLDWIND, and GAMESA. This shows that stock market volatility fail to represent the changes in wind turbine manufacturing firms’ performance in the short run although there is a relationship in the long run. This indicates that wind turbine manufacturing industry shows its own dynamics in the short run as explained in this paper. Knowledge on specific opportunities and threats for the industry especially in the field of finance is required for successful performance of the companies. It is of crucial importance for SMEs to secure strong and stable financing support in order to look for new investment projects and carry out each phase of their projects to completion with success. At this point, as a method that comprises all traditional financing methods, project financing allows SMEs to manage their investments within an institutional framework and paves the way for sustainable growth both for SMEs and for the overall economy. Currently, the Turkish banking sector mainly offers a financing system dominated by commercial banks, and as such, it fails to address the project financing needs of SMEs in terms of maturity and volume. With the financing method to be implemented in future under the name of "Project Financing," it will be possible to attract foreign capital in circulation at global markets to our country and create a substantial source for financing the projects to be developed by SMEs. In this article, we will try to indicate that this method will be more efficient and secure more benefits from income generating projects by making it possible for SMEs to obtain financing at longer terms, with more suitable conditions and in larger volumes. Unless sufficient level of motivation is reached, academicians do not perform well and be successful within this collaboration. In this paper, effective factors in motivating academicians for industry collaboration are analyzed. For this purpose, in-depth interviews are conducted which is one of the techniques in Qualitative Research. The data collected form these in-depth interviews are analyzed in terms of Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory which is one of the content theories and the results are classified. Thus, motivation and hygiene factors that are effective in motivating academicians for industry collaboration are identified. Less course load and management’s support in terms of bureaucracy and administrative functions came to the front as prominent factors. The emerged motivation factors can be listed as being able to observe theoretical academic knowledge put into practice, gain recognition and access social circles, find an opportunity to update academic knowledge, transfer the knowledge gained from business life to students by supplementing classes, ensure grant and employment opportunities to students, discharge the responsibility to society, and have access to technical and social means that are not ensured by universities. For some academicians, while the facts of inclusion of academia-industry collaboration within academic promotion criteria and matter of financial gain act as a hygiene factor, for others they act as a motivation factor. In conclusion, taking aforementioned factorsinto account, works and studies to be performed in order to ease and develop industry collaboration are determined and it is suggested to conduct a quantitative research and develop a scale to detect the significance of these factors. Credit risk is described by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) as “the potential that a bank borrower or counterparty will fail to meet its obligations in accordance with agreed terms” (BCBS, 2010, page 13). In the EU banks’ granting credit risk is one of the principle sources of income. Therefore, the credit risk management in connection with that influences the bank profitability. This study investigates the impact of credit risk management on the 40 EU bank performances. The period of 11 years (2003 – 2013) is analysed. The pre-crisis period is analysed which includes 5 years (2003 – 2007). Also, the crisis period is examined which is 6 years (2008 – 2013). Additionally, these 40 EU banks were selected according to asset size of the EU banks. Return on Asset (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE) were used as the performance indicators while Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Loan Loss Provision (LLP) and Loan to Debt (LTD) were used as credit risk management indicators. Additionally, inflation (INF) and Gross Domestic Product Level (GDP Level) were used as a country dummies indicators. Panel data model was employed to estimate the determinants of the profit function. The most effective concept that stands out in terms of competition is accepted as “Innovation”. This concept defines a reformist, creative, dynamic and effective philosophy which can bring a solution to many fields such as universities, public enterprises, private businesses and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations). The aim of the study is to search for an answer to the questions related to the interaction situation between shareholders in innovation ecosystem, the collaboration of shareholders in terms of common purposes, the role and place of the universities in ecosystem, and the reflections of academic innovation in ecosystem. The questions prepared for the study with open-ended questions and Likert scale are sent to the academicians via e-mail who are chosen via cluster sampling method at 20 universities chosen randomly among 193 universities enrolled in YÖK (the Council of Higher Education in Turkey). The findings of this study are as follows; (1) the interaction between shareholders inside the innovation ecosystem is very weak, (2) lack of interdisciplinary studies, (3) the weakness in the formation of innovation culture, and (4) the concept of academic innovation is not sufficiently widespread. The study is limited to the academicians working at 20 universities which are chosen randomly. This study reveals the role of universities in forming innovation ecosystem and academic innovation culture from the perspective of academicians. Lack of an extensive study revealing the role of universities in innovation ecosystem makes this study authentic. Consequently, the scheduling and the constitution of the production shops are getting complex to suit these requirements. This might result in a mismatch to the production plans, when not considered throughout all constraints and not sufficiently improved. Therefore, cycle times do increase, resulting in delayed deliveries, which are also decreasing the efficiency. In order to assure an agile, flexible and lean shop floor arrangement, an evidence based approach (EBA) is proposed herewith, deploying work in process improvement based on simulation with associated value stream mapping. Consequently, a case study in one of the leading white good manufacturers in Turkey is conducted to demonstrate EBA successfully. It is hypothesized that perceived power sources used by leaders affect followers’ contextual performance and employee territorial attitudes towards organizational space moderate this relationship. According to the findings of the study, scale mean scores for perceived leader power sources, territoriality and contextual performance demonstrate no significant difference in terms of the demographic variables of gender, age, education, and experience. The independent variables that account for most of the variance explained of contextual performance are referent power and legitimate power. Although territoriality has significantly positive correlation with contextual performance, as a single variable it has no significant effect on employee contextual performance. For the first step of the hierarchical multiple regression analyses, perceived leader power sources and territoriality are block entered as independent variables into the model whereby they are found to be predictive of contextual performance. In the second step, leader power sources*territoriality interactions are entered into the model whereby all regression models are found to be statistically significant. In this context, it has been observed that hospitals, being institutions providing service, have dramatically increased their efforts in order to improve their business strategies in accordance with quality and market orientation. As a result of this, in improving market orientation, organizational learning capability have contributed organizations in envisaging environment and market orientations, thereby decreasing the risks regarding organizational processes and in developing the organization. Yam and others (2005) have suggested that operations of organizations be changed by reconsturcting existing processes to be more market and quality oriented and inventing more programmes. On the other hand, it has been ascertained by various research that organizations which have organizational learning capability proved to be in open interaction with their external environment, to put experiences in use, to achieve administrative commitment, to adopt a participatory policy, to have leaders who are committed to the organization and in an attitude to provide positive reinforcement for the employees, to have tangible visions and missions, and to be improving company performance by accomplishing knowledge transfer properly and on time. (örn. Chiva et al., 2007; Jerez-Gomez et al., 2005; Leonard-Barton, 1992). It can be inferred from such evidence that company performance will boost provided that market and business oriented company strategies are reconstructed in the context of organizational learning. In accordance with these presumptions, a database consisting of 148 surveys carried out at 95 out of 118 private hospitals with beds in Istanbul. Hypotheses put forward within the scope of theoretical framework have been tested by correlation and regression analyses using SPSS 19 program. Analysis results proved that market orientation dimensions such as Competitor Orientation and Interdepartmental Coordination have a positive impact on Company Performance while Customer Orientation dimension has no effect on Company Performance. It has been observed that learning capability has a positive impact on the subdimensions of Firm Performance. Organizational Learning capability has a full mediating variable impact on the correlation between Competitor Orientation - Qualitative Performance and Customer Orientation - Qualitative Performance; and Organizational learning skill has a full intervening (mediating) variable impact on the correlation of Quality Orientation – Quantitative Performance and Customer Orientation - Quantitative Performance. On the other hand, Organizational Learning Capability has a partial intervening (mediating) variable impact on the correlation between Quality Orientation – Qualitative Performance. While showing interrelations and linear relations among factors in the scope of theoretical framework, our research has put forward that organizational learning capability has a full and a partial intervening variable effect in the scope of these relations. In this respect, companies organize and publish sustainability reports about their areas of activities to inform the investors. Currently, there have been no requirements for companies with regard to the publication of the sustainability reports. Advanced countries' stock markets provide guidance for the companies to develop policies in response to probable risks they might face regarding issues such as environmental, social, and corporate ones. Within this scope, indices of the stocks of companies adopting sustainability policies are forwarded to the investors in the financial markets. The Istanbul Stock Exchange makes different indices calculations to determine the performance of the companies concerning environmental, corporate and social governance issues. The index of "BIST Sustainability Index" traded on Istanbul Stock Exchange is an index created from the senior companies which have corporate sustainability performance. Thus, the aim of the article is to research whether returns of "BIST Sustainability Index" determined by the companies' ethical and social responsibility policies are different from the others. As a result, it has been found that there is a significant difference between the returns of BIST Sustainability Index and other indices and indices formed by the companies adopting sustainability policies provide higher returns compared to other indices. As one of the most important political economists, Adam Smith analyzed the dynamics of wealth of nations and welfare of individuals and societies. In this study, we mainly focused Smith’s views on the determinants of economic growth. It is clear that modern economic growth theory has been still benefited from the Smith’s views on the economic growth which are division of labour, education, human capital, learning by doing, increasing returns to scale, technological change, externalities, institutional factors such as global free-competitive market economy, the role of government etc. Even if we are not on the same wave with Smith, it is still very important to review Smith’s views on the determinants of economic growth in order to design better economic and political environment for economic agents to increase wealth of nations. We see the financialization as a new capitalist accumulation process. Financialization also enlarges the global imbalances. In a financialized world, it is misleading to see it feasible to finance the deficit forever. Hence, sustainability of the present international financial system is uncertain.
