And even at some time they are examples of countries like Turkey that are in the way of development. In this context, we tried to examine the conditions of these two countries in the context of economic development and the process of economic development, and to examine the extent to which these countries might be sampling. At this point, economic structures of these countries are examined first. Following this, economic policies and industrialization strategies that they exhibited during the economic development process were examined. The variables that are expected to affect the profitability of 23 deposit banks that operate in Turkey between 2010 and 2015 are classified as bank specific, sector specific, and macroeconomic fundamentals specific variables and the model is estimated by the System Generalized Method of Moments Procedure. The findings suggest that the profitability level of the sector is affected positively by the asset size and negatively by credit risk and the ratio between the credits and assets. The findings also reveal that profitability is affected positively by economic growth rate and the improvements in budget balance and negatively by monetary growth rate and the concentration rate of the sector Journal: Eurasian Business & Economics Journal Pages: 11-18 Volume: 12 Issue: 12 Year: 2017 Month: Feb DOI: 10.17740/eas.econ.2017.V12-2 File-URL: https://eurasianacademy.org/index.php/busecon/article/view/754 File-Format: Application/pdf Handle: RePEc:eas:buseco:v:12:y:2017:i:12:p:11-18 Template-Type: ReDIF-Article 1.0 Author-Name: Murat Çiftçi Author-Email: muratciftci@trakya.edu.tr Author-Workplace-Name: Trakya University Author-Name: Bilal Pişkin Author-Email: muratciftci@trakya.edu.tr Author-Workplace-Name: İnterdisipliner Sağlık Kurumları Yöneticiliği Bilim Dalı Uzmanı Title: Analysis of Turkish Private Health Insurance Sector Abstract: Although the legal basis of the private health insurance sector in Turkey dates back to 1926, its gaining momentum started in the post-1980 period. Especially in 1990, after its formation of an independent insurance branch, there also has been a revival in the sectoral deeping. However, the sector still does not have the expected depth on an international scale. For 2004 and 2013, the development sorting of the private health insurance sector for EU countries and Turkey has been made. Analysis of prime components which are widely used in sorting studies has been preferred as a method. As a result of analysis of the prime components, Turkey, which ranked 13th among 23 countries according to premium penetration in 2004, ranked 10th among 24 countries in 2013. While it was 11th out of 17 countries, Turkey, which could not demonstrate the same performance at the payment penetration, ranked 10th out of 20 countries. Therefore, despite the rapid increase in premium production, the sector profitability is also likely to increase since the same performance cannot be shown in the payments. Therefore, countries take institutional, legal and economic measures to increase the total tax revenues. This study researched the impact of financial sector development including banking sector development level and stock market development level on total tax revenues in Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries during the period 2001-2016 using Westerlund-Durbin-Hausman (2008) cointegration test and Konya (2006) panel boostrap Granger causality test. The results revealed that the impact of both banking sector and stock market development on the total tax revenues changed depending on the countries. Furthermore, causality test results indicated that there was unidirectional causality from both development level of banking sector and stock market to the total tax revenues. Multi-criteria decision making method is used when there is more than one affecting criterion. Within the scope of the research, TOPSIS and VIKOR methods have been used as multi criteria decision making methods. With these methods, the financial performance of deposit banks for the last five years has been evaluated and analyzed. These perceptions affect their attitudes towards the online shops. In this paper, interconnected relationship among product risk, financial risk, shopping flexibility, product selection, attitude toward site and net benefit have been suggested. In order to test hypotheses, structural equation modelling method has been used. By studying on a sample consists of 407 people who purchase goods or services from e-commerce web sites, it is found that attitude toward site plays mediator role in the effect of risk perception and benefit perception on net benefit. The analysis is based on a panel data set of 27 banks that actively lend commercial credits to the quarterly data for the period 2006: 4 to 2016: 3. Panel causality tests were used as an analysis method. The findings have shown that there are strong interactions between the credit-to-GDP gap and the nonperforming loans, which banks are considered to reflect current credit risks. Since the credit-to-GDP gap is regarded as a leading indicator of systemic bank crises, the mentioned interactions support the argument that the nonperforming loans are a significant dynamic of possible bank crises. As a result of the study, it was found that the VQNN algorithm is the most successful algorithm in classifying the insurance data and the vehicle characteristics are more determinative than the driver characteristics in determining the accident status. Demos-kratos corresponds to ?power to people? meaning that people decide the laws that will govern their land. Conventionally democracy is a system of government based on popular sovereignty. However, it is seen that the forms/principles of democracy have been applied differently by communities throughout the history. Therefore it can be said that socioeconomic, political and constitutional structures of communities might form the democratic way of life.To evaluate the levels of democracy of countries various measures used in the literature (e.g. democracy index). These measures are calculated considering pluralism, civil liberties, functioning of government, political culture, and performance of non-political dimensions of countries. The literature review indicates that most of the studies examine the relation between democracy index and socio-economic variables. However, public perception of democracy is important as well.In this study, the importance given to main characteristics of democracy of 59 countries? have been evaluated considering World Values Survey data (2010-2014). Firstly, a new dataset has been defined using central tendency measures and the relationship between main characteristics of democracy has been studied. Afterwards, countries have been classified according to main characteristics of democracy. The classification process has been considered using both classical and robust multivariate statistical approaches. Lastly, the similarities and differences between country groups, and the place of Turkey among these countries have been examined. It is known that the current account balance of that country is followed and that the difference between the income and expenses from items in the balance of payments balance is the current deficit of that country. What is important is what resources are financed and sustainability. The fact that Turkey has a current account deficit of $ 32 billion in 2016 is in fact the currency demanded by Turkey in the World. While this demand is found in the outside world, risks such as growth, economic and political stability, geopolitics play a decisive role in addition to the difference of return of fund holders who meet this demand. In our study, the sustainability of the current account deficit in Turkey in 2003-2016 period was investigated and quarterly data were used. As a result, the current account deficit in Turkey is seen to be sustainable. Abstract: Knowing of the chaos theory by the economists has caused the understanding of the difficulties of the balance in economy. The applications of the chaos theory related to economy have aimed to overcome these difficulties. Chaotic deterministic models with sensitive dependence on initial conditions provide a powerful tool in understanding the apparently random movements in financial data. The dynamic systems are analyzed by using linear and/or nonlinear methods in the previous studies. Although the linear methods used for stable linear systems, generally fails at the nonlinear analysis, however, they give intuition about the problem. Due to a nonlinear variable in the difference equations describing the dynamic systems, unpredictable dynamics may occur. The chaos theory or nonlinear analysis methods are used to examine such dynamics systems. The chaos that expresses an irregular condition can be characterized by "sensitive dependence on initial conditions". We employ four tests, viz. the BDS test on raw data, the BDS test on pre-filtered data, Correlation Dimension test and the Brock's Residual test. The financial markets considered are the stock market, the foreign exchange market. The results from these tests provide very weak evidence for the presence of chaos in USD-EUR Parity. In this study, the methods for the chaotic analysis of the time series, obtained based on the discrete or continuous measurements of a variable are investigated. The chaotic analysis methods have been applied on the time series of various systems.
