Countries have established customs procedures to protect their national economies, national security, as well as human, environmental, and plant health. These procedures, which consist of tariff and non-tariff measures and customs practices, result in a paperwork-intensive process, causing delays in customs operations and imposing time and cost burdens on companies. Technology is being used as a lever to eliminate these costs and shape global trade. This article provides a conceptual framework for the use of next-generation technologies in foreign trade transactions. In this paper, two relatively new MCDM decision-making methods are used to make investment decisions in the stock market. The first method is multiple criteria ranking by alternative trace (MCRAT) and the second method is (ranking alternatives by perimeter similarity (RAPS). In the study, 24 stocks within the scope of BIST30 were ranked by MCRAT and RAPS methods within the framework of 11 financial indicators (criteria). The ranking results obtained from these two relatively new methods were compared with the ranking results obtained by TOPSIS method, which is another CRM method that is often used reliably by researchers, using the same alternatives and the same criteria. As a result of the analysis, it was observed that MCRAT and RAPS ranking results have high rank correlation with TOPSIS ranking results. Therefore, it is concluded that MCRAT and RAPS methods can be used with confidence when making investment decisions in the stock market. Private pension funds exhibit variability with regards to the types of investments they hold and the corresponding levels of risk that are associated with those investments. Among these funds, variable (managed) pension funds are the group of funds that are constantly increasing in terms of both their share and size and show the best asset management performance of portfolio management companies. In this study, the performances of variable pension mutual funds were analyzed and it was aimed to measure the portfolio selectivity and market timing abilities of the managers of these funds. According to the analysis results, it has been observed that, as of the period under review, the performances of funds remained below average for most variables when compared to the benchmark indicators. Over time, and particularly in the last four-year period, there has been a noticeable improvement in performance outcomes. It has also been determined that only a subset of fund managers possess skills in selectivity and market timing. It has also been observed that the fund performance management system, which was implemented in 2020, has relatively improved fund performances. Another result of the research is that pension funds with different instrument contents have relatively more successful performance measures. This issue not only affects citizens who are unable to attain the prosperity they deserve, but also impacts their family members and the entire community. Workers who cannot achieve the desired level of prosperity in retirement are often willing to work in the informal sector, or in insecure and unregulated jobs. Individuals who are deprived of workplace safety and security, receive low wages, and endure poor working conditions, may be unable to sustain their own lives or support their dependents. In both cases, the common factor is that the health of citizens is put at risk. This can lead to social assistance programs replacing investments aimed at increasing employment, resulting in inefficient use of public resources. This situation presents a significant obstacle to achieving a happy society. The main objective of this study is to identify the types of economic and social assistance provided by professional mutual aid funds operating throughout Turkey, specifically OYAK, ILKSAN, and POLSAN, to their members and to evaluate their economic impact towards increasing prosperity. To achieve these objectives, a literature review and a relational search method were used, along with activity reports. The research results indicate that while ILKSAN and POLSAN's economic and social assistance provided to their members increased annually in nominal terms, OYAK increased both its total assets and the dividends distributed to its members in nominal and real terms. However, due to the reusable nature of plastic materials, these wastes constitute one of the most important environmental problems. It takes an average of 450 years for a simple plastic to decompose in nature. Unless another material is used to replace them, plastics will continue to be a serious and unstoppable threat to our world. This means that our lands and seas are filled with plastic. For a sustainable environment, it is necessary to turn to bioplastics that are biodegradable, non-toxic and non-oil-based, renewable and environmentally friendly. Bioplastics are plastics obtained from renewable biomass sources. In this study, micro and macro algae, which occupy a large space in our ecosystem, can grow rapidly in all renewable biomass resources, and have a significant effect on carbon dioxide absorption, were preferred in the production of bioplastics. Features such as the fact that algae do not compete with food sources, that they can be produced even in wastewater, and that they dissolve quickly in nature are also reasons why they are preferred to obtain bioplastics. This research is an experimental study and the data of the research was collected using the observation technique. In the study, the efficiency of algae in absorbing carbon dioxide was measured and bioplastic was produced from algae. It has been observed how long it takes for bioplastic obtained from algae to decompose compared to the plastic used in our daily lives by leaving it in nature. Research results have shown that bioplastics made from algae decompose 1800 times faster in nature than the plastics used today. The results also showed that bioplastics made from algae are advantageous due to their high carbon dioxide absorption. Making bioplastics obtained from algae instead of petroleum-based plastics, which pose a serious problem in environmental pollution, seems promising for our planet. Employing a cross-sectional design, the study focuses on maritime workers, commonly known as seafarers, and examines their patterns of addictive substance use to gain accurate insights into addiction severity. To assess the prevalence of anxiety, this study uses the 7-item scale known as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD-7), which effectively identifies anxiety symptoms, and for evaluating addiction severity, the Addiction Severity Index (ASI) is employed. By analyzing the collected data, it has been shown that a significant relationship has emerged between addiction intensity and anxiety levels among seafarers.  Despite the strong correlation, the reason for this remains unclear. Does the intensity of addiction increase anxiety, or does increased anxiety contribute to addiction? To navigate this ambiguity, further research endeavors are urgently required. Comprehensive studies, including longitudinal investigations, are essential for establishing causality, untangling this intricate relationship, and ultimately promoting the well-being of seafarers. Identifying the challenges faced by seafarers and implementing targeted programs can improve their well-being, productivity and overall effectiveness in maritime operations. Considering these results, it is clear that it will be beneficial to provide mental health support services to maritime workers.
